Alejandra Hormaeche
Called to the Bar in October 1998 (Middle Temple)
Barrister
Alejandra is a law graduate from Manchester University who was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1998. She is a widely experienced civil litigation practitioner whose practice has been broadly based on contentious chancery disputes, general commercial and business disputes, land and real property disputes.
In early 2023 she joined Del Canto Chambers (together with Clerksroom) as she is a Spanish barrister with experience of dealing with civil litigation as practised in the English courts but with a Spanish aspect. In particular, she has been instructed in chancery, commercial and property cases with a Spanish element often involving jurisdiction disputes. She is able to assist with the problems that arise when chancery, commercial, and property litigation has a Spanish element such as determining whether the English courts have jurisdiction over a claim against a Spanish company, or with respect to property situated in Spain, wills and trusts. She has also represented Spanish Defendants where proceedings are brought in the English courts in breach of a jurisdiction agreement.
Alejandra is Direct Access qualified but she does not conduct litigation. She is happy to have virtual conferences on Zoom with both lay and professional clients.
