Gonzalo Rodríguez Marín is a Spanish lawyer and currently the General Coordinator of the Centre for Islamic Economics and Finance at the IE Business School, one to the top 10 Business Schools in the world according to the Financial Times.

Previously he was a lawyer at Triodos Bank, the leading ethical bank in Europe and legal adviser at Garrigues Abogados (the Iberian peninsula’s leading tax and legal services firm in terms of professional headcount and billing). He received his MAJ (LLM) from IE Business School, a Degree in law from Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, an International Executive Program in Islamic Finance at IE Business School and he also holds studies in political science from Universidad Complutense de Madrid.

In his current role at IE Business School, Gonzalo plays a pivotal role in advancing academic research, educational initiatives, and strategic partnerships in the field of Islamic finance. He contributes significantly to bridging the gap between traditional European legal systems and Sharia-compliant financial frameworks, positioning the Centre for Islamic Economics and Finance as a thought leader in ethical and inclusive finance on a global scale.
