AS Arabia will be the largest Spanish sports newspaper in the Arab world

The Anglo Spanish legal Firm Del Canto Chambers facilitated yesterday the agreement to launch what will become the largest Spanish sports newspaper in the arab world.
As Arabia was born yesterday in Doha (Qatar).

The CEO of PRISA, Manuel Mirat, along with the executive director of Dar AlSharq Group, Abdullatif Al Mahmoud; the director of AS, Alfredo Relaño, and the managing director of AS, Juan Canton, signed the creation of the new company that will manage this project. The agreement counted with the legal advice of the Anglo-Spanish law firm Del Canto Chambers, firm that two years ago got a similar agreement for the New York newspaper HuffPost, with the heading  HuffPost Arabi. Del Canto Chambers has positioned itself as the leading firm on digital strategy and media in the Arab world.

The start-up of the paper is planned for the next few months. As in all AS editions in the different countries in which it is well-established. With this agreement, AS takes a major step forward in its option for the international market and moves forward on its project to reach as many readers as possible. AS already has editions in countries like Chile, Colombia and Mexico, where it is the most read sports paper according to comScore, as well as in other countries such as Argentina, USA, Peru, South Africa, Singapore and Malaysia. It has an edition in English, AS English, and another global edition for the whole of America, AS America.
