Mayra Cecilia Rubio Espíritu
Mexican Senior Counsel, Spanish and Mexican Abogada
Specialism: International Law

Year of call: Madrid 2011
Mayra C. Rubio Espíritu is a Mexican lawyer with over 25 years’ experience. She has a double qualification as a lawyer in Mexico and Spain. Member of the Madrid Bar Association (Ilustre Colegio de Abogados de Madrid, ICAM) and since 2011 has had her own law firm specialising in migration, human rights and legal affairs between Mexico and Spain. I can not see from this what it is she actually does for DCC at the moment. Is she simply an associate member who does not work for DCC at this point in time or does she undertake work for us, in which case it would be good to say what she does or has done for us?
She has been appointed by the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Mexico to serve as a legal advisor at the Consular Section of the Mexican Embassy in Spain, where she offers legal service to Mexican residents and investors. For the last 2 years, she has been part of the Legal Guidance Service at the ICAM where she advises the immigrant community in Madrid.
Ms. Rubio holds post-graduate diplomas in Human Rights from the Complutense University in Madrid, the Institute International de Droits del´homme in Strasburg, France, and obtained a Diploma of Advanced Studies in European Law from the Ortega y Gasset Institute. She received the special mention of the The Holy Father Rubio Award for Immigration from the University of Comillas.
